Kitchens & Bathrooms

Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving! Interior Matter gives thanks to its friends, families, team members, and clients. This month is all about how in four projects Interior Matter has transformed bathrooms and kitchens into spaces where its clients cook, entertain, eat, and “do their bathroom things”. It’s about understanding how human beings interact with built spaces. As our newest team member Lindsey says, “In order to be considered an improvement, [a newly renovated or decorated room] must result in a space that is less burdensome, more efficient, higher functioning, deeply personal, and of course… beautiful.” Please enjoy these before and after photos from our work.

(Bath)room to Breathe

The owner of a one-bedroom Arlington, VA condo tasked Interior Matter with gut renovating her primary bathroom to transform it from builder basic into clean and modern. Interior Matter’s client enjoys getting ready each day in her new bathroom.

Baywatch

The clients of this Chesapeake Bay home rebuilt it, and in the process Interior Matter redesigned the kitchen and bathrooms to be more functional, warm, and modern. The materials are inspired by the home’s natural surroundings, and the warm neutral palette allows nature to be the focus from every room. The clients frequently entertain and wanted the house to be more connected to the outdoors.

Museum Peace

An art collector tasked Interior Matter with gut renovating his 2-bedroom Arlington, VA condo to feature his art collection. In doing so, Interior Matter designed a Boffi kitchen and two Boffi bathrooms all in white as backdrops to the colorful art. The result is a gallery that is home and home that is a gallery.

Totally Radnor

Bethesda, MD empty nesters wanted a new kitchen that was clean, colorful, warm, and bright. It was an opportunity to use multiple materials to achieve this goal which also included a statement island and integrated appliances. The final touches are still being added, so these final renderings will be achieved in real life very soon. Interior Matter’s clients cannot wait to prepare their next meal in this kitchen!
